About Yugi, also called Bangjja, is a Korean type of hand forged bronzeware. The main difference between Korean bronzeware or Yugi from other bronzeware is the alloy ratio between copper and tin.
Yugi contains much more tin than other bronzewares (Cu:Sn = 78:22 as valume) while the normal ratio of tin to copper is 1/9. Due to this compositional difference, Yugi (unlike other kinds of bronzeware) can be sterilized.
For this reason, it has historically been used as tableware for the royal families of Korea. Yugi is used for the traditional presentation of Korean royal court cuisine (surasang).
In 1983, the Government of South Korea has officially designated Yugi as an Important Intangible Cultural Property.
Why Procyon choose 'YUGI' as the material for our products.
Yugi is a very beautiful and luxurious material and at the same time has a strong sterilization function. Durable, beautiful, and sterilizing, YUGI is the most suitable material for pet tableware that contains water or food for a long time.
